Dear Neo-Nazi & White Supremacists

Where do we begin... sigh.

Let's start with the recent horrific events in Charlottesville, VA. There were White Supremacist & Neo-Nazi/Fascist Protestors along with counter anti-racist and anti-fascist protesters who ended up clashing. To say it reached a boiling point would be a grave understatement. I would be doing a disservice if I tried to explain this, so if you are unfamiliar with what happened I highly recommend watching the video below before continuing on:

So what exactly is the purpose of this post?

Let us get the obvious out of the way here - I am a straight, married, 35 Year Old White American Male - because of that,  I have many advantages over other genders, races, ethnicities, etc.

I shouldn't, but I do.

There is no place in this world for hate against other humans. The events of Charlottesville (Link to photos below) make me sick, and they should make EVERYONE sick regardless of color or creed because we are all human beings.

So clearly this is a problem, both on a basic societal level and on a humanity level. For this post though, I'm going to be more specific and very clear; White Supremacy & Neo-Nazi Ideology have no place in the world. None.

To those individuals who make up these groups, you need to wake up and hear me when I say that you do NOT represent me in any way shape or form! You do NOT represent the masses. You are NOT preserving anything about me, my history or anything else that YOU consider should belong to "White's only".

You also have a major loop hole in your ideology and way of life.

"But Ryan, how is that possible? This way of life and ideology has existed for a long time and has been well thought out."

Let's start with some education & definitions.

A major part of your thinking is that you represent "The Superior Race". Let's get a clear understanding of "Superior", "Supremacy", shall we?

If you were ACTUALLY the definition of the above, you wouldn't feel the need to protest, have groups built around being superior, or show so much hate towards others who don't "look like you".

Why you ask?

Because that's not logical. And I was raised to think logically about anything and everything in life. Specifically when it comes to being good (superior) at something. When I was younger, I was fairly good at baseball. My parents made it clear to me that if I truly was good at baseball (or anything for that matter) that you should never have to brag about yourself because others will do the bragging for you.

So let's apply that thought process to white skin color & specific religions where it is believed that males are superior to all others. In this scenario, if you were truly better, with higher statuses and more of a right to LIVE than the people/genders/religions/races "Below You", they wouldn't be a threat to you because there clearly wouldn't be a need to "protect your race" or essentially brag/speak about it being superior. As I said before, if it were in fact true, everyone else would already be speaking about you in that way and you wouldn't need to yourself.

Yet, here we are, having to listen to this archaic rhetoric. Look, I'm all for free speech but in my opinion that doesn't apply to who I'm referencing in this post. Neo-Nazi's are a modern day version of WWII version ideology and, well, the good old US OF A went into war against to fight that and we WON. So I don't think freedom of speech applies to any old or modern day Nazi. You don't get the freedom to spew hate. And besides, if you are soooo superior, shouldn't that be beneath you anyway?

Freedom of speech isn't meant to blend into Freedom of Hate/Violence. There is no room for that. Debating/discussing issues? Sure. But that's not what I see from your hate groups. That's not what you put on display.

I'm not going to even bother to address the Neo-Nazi's beyond that because it was made clear in the 1940's that your group isn't welcome here. And as far as the White Supremacists go - you do not represent me! You completely solidify why WE (WHITE MEN AND PEOPLE) hold back humanity. In fact, you are doing the opposite of what you say you want. You are highlighting white people us to be the inferior, classless, life draining leach on humanity. Because only those types of people want to hate other humans based on their outside appearances and religious/cultural beliefs.

WE ALL BLEED THE SAME RED BLOOD!  (spare me the blood types, DNA's etc, it won't change my point)

There is really only one major problem here and it's YOU. Yes, YOU are the problem. There is no place in today's society or on this planet for hate filled, insecure racists. HUMANITY is the race that we should be focused on.

All you're doing is showcasing how ignorant and scared you truly are with these horrific acts and the idiotic words you speak.

For those of you who do not find yourself aligning with White Supremacy (because you know, it's 2017), stop ignoring the issue. Specifically white men, if you have a problem with how things are, don't stand idly by. STAND UP AND SPEAK OUT. Let these pathetic groups know that they do not represent you. Better yet, let everyone else know and then ask people of color and different religions how you, as a white male, with all your privilege (asked for or not it's time that we all own we have it), how you can help make change!

It's time humanity stands united against this way of thinking and this way of life.

White men everywhere - stop being passive and finding excuses/reasons why you aren't racist/misogynist/nationalistic/Homophobic/anti-Semitic etc (MASSIVE LIST COULD FILL THIS IN....you get the idea) & why that allows you to sit quietly on the side lines. Speak up and take a stand.

Because right now, your voice is needed more than ever. Please use it.
